Waterproofing:

The exclusive Beaufort 2L+ component is guaranteed to keep you dry even under torrential rain. Thanks to its material component, its shape, and the quality of its construction, while in the rain simulator, your Offshoroa salopettes spent 4 hours under the equivalent of a 300 L/hr/sqm downpour without the tiniest drop seeping through. The material component's waterproofing is guaranteed to more than 10,000 mm of water pressure. All seams are 100% sealed.

What is a waterproofing test or "shower test?"

Approved test where the garment is placed under a shower simulating different weather conditions. All of our products are certified 100% waterproof, having been tested for 4+ hours in rain of 300 L/hr/sqm to 450 L/hr/sqm, depending on the product use. To put this into perspective, the highest recorded rain fall was in the USA in 1942, when 174 L/hr/sqm fell over 4.5 hours (NOAA). The average rainfall in Paris is 2 L/hr/sqm (www.Paris.fr)

Hood:

The mesh-lined hood is fitted with a 3-way adjustment for optimal comfort. You can, therefore, adjust the height of the hood of your Offshoroa jacket with an elastic drawstring and a cord lock, the field of vision with an elastic drawcord and toggles built into the back of the head, and, finally, the height of the visor with a rip-tab on the top of the head.

Jacket fastening:

The injection-molded plastic central zipper is resistant to corrosion from salt water thanks to the special shape of the zipper's teeth.
It features a two-way zip that allows you to open your jacket from both the top and the bottom.
The opening of your Offshoroa jacket has a double outer flap that guarantees perfect waterproofing of the jacket.

Protection of documents and multimedia accessories:

The jacket has an inner zippered waterproof pocket built into the central opening flap, which can be accessed even when the jacket is closed and has a hole for headphones.

End seals:

The wrists are equipped with adjustable double storm cuffs. The synthetic rubber inner sleeve is adjustable with a rip tab to provide an excellent seal.

Jacket bottom hem

The hem of the jacket can be adjusted using an elasticized drawcord and toggles, which allow you to optimize heat conservation by preventing air from entering and maximizing the jacket's waterproofing.

Collar:

Intuitive and reliable elasticized cord collar adjustment prevents air and water from getting in. The collar of your Offshoroa jacket is fleece-lined for improved thermal insulation and to provide a greater feeling of comfort.

Hand warmer pockets:

Two wide chest pockets with silicone zips and 240 g (8.5 oz) fleece pockets keep your hands nice and warm and out of the wind and rain.

Storage:

The Offshoroa jacket was designed with two "cargo" pockets. They are equipped, on the one hand, with a storm cord in the front left pocket that allows you to secure your equipment, and, on the other hand, a large ring connected to a strap that can be positioned on the outside in order to clip your kill cord snap hook.
The jacket also has two elasticized net pockets for storing your gloves or your hat.

Visibility:

The reflective 3M patches on the sleeves, collar, hood and the Tribord logo intensify low light sources.

What is breathability and the RET index?

The breathability of your Offshoroa Women's jacket corresponds to its ability to let perspiration generated by the body escape. It is measured by its Resistance to Evaporative Transfer (ISO 11092 standard). The RET is a resistance index; the lower the value, the greater the breathability of the fabric. RET between 6 and 9: extremely breathable, between 10 - 13: very breathable, between 14 and 17: breathable, between 18 - 20: little breathability, above 20: not breathable

Water repellent component:

The water repellency of your Offshoroa Salopettes is obtained by applying a treatment to its surface. This treatment causes water to slide over the surface without soaking in. This prevents the component from soaking up water and keeps it lightweight, breathable, and warm. This treatment must be renewed throughout the garment's lifetime. Our line offers products for this purpose; solutions can also be found on the care instructions on how to reactivate your salopettes' water repellent treatment.

How important is windproofing?

Protection from the wind is very important, as wind can chill the body significantly whether you are active or at rest. According to the "wind chill" model, which measures how the air temperature feels when factoring in the wind and cold: at a temperature of 41°F combined with winds of 19 mph, the temperature felt will be 32°F. If the air temperature is 32°F and wind speed is 25 mph, the temperature felt will be 19°F. Your Offshoroa salopettes help to counter the windchill factor.

What is a waterproof and breathable hydrophilic membrane?

The membrane works in stages to wick away perspiration. Firstly, the fabric absorbs water vapor until it is saturated. Then, due to the difference in pressure between inside and outside the jacket, the fabric disperses the water vapor outwards. The main advantage of the hydrophilic membrane is that it does not have pores; consequently, there is no need to constantly rinse the fabric to wash off any salt water crystals. Breathability therefore remains constant over time.

Score to compare the environmental impact of products

The environmental impact of the product is calculated over its entire life cycle and with different indicators.
An overall score (ABCDE) is attributed to help you easily identify the products with the best environmental performance by comparing products of the same type with one another (T-shirts, trousers, backpacks, etc.).

Decathlon chose to apply this voluntary environmental labeling scheme.

Product Testing

Novadry re-creates torrential rain conditions in its weather simulator. In that context, after 4 hours under a torrential rain shower of 300 L/hr/sqm, our garment still kept the user dry. To give you an idea of what this means, the world record for 4.5 hours of precipitation was 174 L/hr/sqm in the USA, unmatched since 1942 (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, USDC), and when it rains in Paris, the average rainfall is 2 L/hr/sqm (www.Paris.fr).

Composition

Main outer fabric: 100% polyamide. Main lining: 100% polyester Secondary lining: 100% polyamide

Storage Instructions

Store in a dry place, but do not leave Novadry® garments on a heat source such as a radiator, as this may damage the breathable membrane or coating.

Care Instructions

Machine wash your Offshoroa waterproof and breathable jacket at 86°Finside-out with hook and loop strips stuck together. Choose a gentle spin and long rinse cycle. Line dry if possible. Occasional tumble drying on low for a short period of time will improve the water repellent treatment. To reactivate the water repellency, you can also iron the fabric on a warm setting (max. 284°F) or apply the Tribord re-waterproofing spray.
